Splitting Numbers

Today Ruanna- Mya was our teacher and taught us how to split numbers. We are learning to split numbers by first making a 10. 

So 19+ 5= 

20 + 4 = 24 

A piglet in Room 9!!!

Last week Mrs Cutfield brought in a piglet!!!

We had the best day watching Mrs Cutfield feed her, and at the end of the day we all got to pat her!!

Writing

We have all been trying really hard with our writing in Room 9. This is one group using writing pencils to help them edit their writing. These kids were so engaged they didn't even notice I took a photo of them :)

Swimming

This week we get to go swimming everyday. Watch out for some amazing stories about our experiences in the pool! 

Pawanpreet

We have spent this week researching Sir Edmund Hillary on our Ipads. Pawanpreet managed to discover lots of interesting facts about his climb to the top of Mt Everest! 

Sir Edmund Hilary

We have started learning about Sir Edmund Hilary. We read this story together as a class, we then wrote a small paragraph summarising what the story was about. 

" Sir Edmund Hilary was the first person to climb the highest mountain in the world- Mt Everest in 1953. He climbed to the summit with his friend Tenzing Norgay. They took a backpack with food, water and oxygen"

We have lots more learning to do!! Watch this space!!
