Sir Edmund Hilary

We have started learning about Sir Edmund Hilary. We read this story together as a class, we then wrote a small paragraph summarising what the story was about.

" Sir Edmund Hilary was the first person to climb the highest mountain in the world- Mt Everest in 1953. He climbed to the summit with his friend Tenzing Norgay. They took a backpack with food, water and oxygen"

We have lots more learning to do!! Watch this space!!

  3. I'm also looking forward to learning more about Edmund Hillary. I wonder how many schools are named after him, I know there's one in Papakura.
